Preparing for your Ceremony

Preparing for your Ceremony

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN PREPARING YOUR CEREMONY?

Upon your making an initial inquiry, I propose a no obligation initial chat to meet you and your partner.  You can make an assessment at this stage as to whether you wish to proceed.

Once you have confirmed that you wish me to be your celebrant, our first task is to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage Form.  This must be completed at least one month before the day of the marriage ceremony.

To complete this form with a celebrant, you need to bring along a copy of your Birth Certificate and your Australian or Overseas Passport.

After this first meeting, I will prepare an initial first Draft Outline of the proposed marriage ceremony for you to examine. It is generally not necessary to have more than one or two meetings with the celebrant.  The format of the ceremony can be largely developed through email communication.

Most couples request a rehearsal a few days before the ceremony.

I attend to all the other arrangements for you, including the completion of several forms and documents and I submit them to the relevant authorities after the marriage ceremony.
